Circe’s Place
A film by Renaud de Putter and Guy Bordin
category : Completed, Documentaries, Feature Films
Synopsis
Filmed in Samoa (South-Pacific) and Mittimatalik (Canadian Arctic) – i.e. two places with strong geographic specificities, at the outskirt of the major world economic centers – Circe’s Place is a creation documentary built around life stories: fragmented and coherent, they are like many colored glimpses, which reveal interrogations on our place in the world.
Hence, the film raises the milestones of a territory: a meeting place, both real and imaginary, where a link can maybe be restored, a link like the one Orpheus tried to establish while descending to Hell.
Circe’s Place is the last and third part of a trilogy started with our two previous films J’ai rêvé and Daphne, putting together Inuit and Polynesian universes through the theme of distance between the self and the others.
